From Junior Classes up to Paris 2024
Quintus // Wiktoria Knap (POL)
When Wiktoria Knap sat in the saddle of Quintus for the very first time at Elmar Lesch´s riding centre in autumn 2015, the Knap family was looking for a reliable junior horse with which the then just 16-year-old young rider could successfully grow from junior classes into the higher level of eventing. The first successes came the following season and the pair entered the international stage at 1* level. The pair of two young talents - Quintus was also only 6 years old in 2016 - harmonised so well straight away that they galloped into the placings in both international young horse and junior competitions. In the following years, they built up a solid foundation at 2*/3* level and filled their account with numerous placings. As early as 2020, Quintus and Wiktoria recorded a top 20 placing in the individual classification in the CCIO4*-S in Strzegom. In 2023 and 2024, Quintus and Wiktoria showed with several high placings up to CCI4*-L that they also want to have a say in top international sport
The so far nine-year success story of Quintus and Wiktoria Knap alone emphasises that the Knap family has found a truly special horse in Bavendorf with the strikingly marked chestnut. In 2024, this story will have a special headline: "Olympics". Even if the pair are in Paris only as a "travelling r eserve" for the Polish team, the trip to France is sure to be Quintus and Wiktoria's highlight so far. Elmar Lesch is very confident about the future: "Viktoria is still young, Quintus is in his prime - even if they don't get to compete this time, their day will come at one of the next championships."
