True Champions

Carjatan S // Christoph Wahler (GER)

In 2016, the Wahler family, looking for a young horse with championship potential, found what they were looking for with Elmar Lesch. In the following years, it quickly became clear that with Carjatan S and the then up-and-coming young talent Christoph Wahler, a rider/horse combination had been found that could advance to the top of the world.

In 2018, they made the leap to the international stage with ease. From then on, the sporting career of the two went "like a picture book". With victories up to CCI4*-S and placings up to CCI5*-L in the classics of Badminton and Luhmühlen as well as top placings in Nations' Cups such as the one at the CHIO Aachen, Carjatan S and Christoph Wahler are now highly decorated. The pair has also been a member of the Olympic squad since 2021.

2024 was to be the highlight of their joint sporting careers: Carjatan S and Christoph were members of the German team at the Olympic Games in Paris. Unfortunately, they had an unfortunate fall in the cross-country, which shattered their dream of a medal.

The pair competed in four championships. Christoph rode Carjatan S as an individual at the first two championships in 2019 (European Championships Luhmühlen) and 2021 (European Championships Avenches), finishing in 20th and 7th place respectively. At the 2022 World Championships in Pratoni del Vivaro and the 2023 European Championships in Haras du Pin, they were a mainstay of the German team, which became World Team Champion in 2022 and European Vice-Champion in 2023. Christoph and Carjatan S narrowly missed out on an individual medal at the 2023 European Championships, finishing fourth in the individual classification.

Christoph and Carjatan S were members of the German Olympic squad from 2021 to 2024.
